Lawrenceville, NJ - Manhattan posted a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Rider in MAAC Action at Ben Cohen Field.

The Jaspers move to 5-8-1 and 3-3-1 in the MAAC while the Broncs are 8-3-3 and 5-1-1 in the league.

Rider opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Caroline Healy found the back of the net off a centering pass from Maddie Lipton.

Just over two minutes later, senior Erica Modena (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa) was denied in her attempt for an equalizer by the crossbar.

After halftime, freshman Arianna Montefusco (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) was also felled by the crossbar in the 49th minute before Manhattan finally broke through in the 54th minute. Modena put the visitors on the board when she delivered a 25-yard laser past Bethany-May Howard to tie up the match at 1-1.

Over the next 10-plus minutes, Kourtney Cunningham would twice be denied by the crossbar and once by the post as the match would ultimately end in a 1-1 stalemate.

For Modena, it was her team-leading fourth goal of the year and the 23rd of her career.

Freshman Olivia Printy (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL / St. Joseph Academy) made five saves over 110 minutes in registering the tie.

Manhattan returns to action on Senior Night against Marist on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 pm.
