LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena overcame an early three-run deficit to defeat Manhattan 8-4 in the series finale between the teams at the Siena Baseball Field.

With the win, the Saints improve to 12-19 and 6-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) while the Jaspers fall to 9-26 and 5-10 in the league.

Despite the loss, Manhattan saw all nine regulars reach base safely while rapping out 12 hits on the afternoon. Senior Chris Kalousdian (Fort Salonga, N.Y. / Kings Park) led the charge, finishing 3-for-4 while extending his hitting streak to eight games thanks to notching his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the year.

The Jaspers started out quickly, plating a first-inning run. Freshman Brendan Bisset (New City, N.Y. / Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)) led the game off with a single before moving to second on a Matt Forlow (So., Cold Spring, N.Y. / Haldane) sacrifice bunt. Kalousdian followed with a single while pushing Bisset to third. Senior Joe McClennan (Highland Mills, N.Y. / Cornwall Central) opened the scoring while plating Bisset with a sacrifice fly.

After threatening to score in the second, Manhattan added to the lead with two runs in the third. Kaloudian led off with a double before scoring on a fielding error as McClennan advanced to second. Junior Christian Santisteban (Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep) then delivered a run-scoring single to plate McClennan while extending the lead out to 3-0.

Siena got on the board in the bottom part of the frame as Jordan Bishop tripled before scoring on a fielding error in trimming the deficit to 3-1.

The Saints then plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth before adding another run in the fifth in extending the lead to 6-3.

In the top of the sixth, the Jaspers appeared poised to trim the deficit as Bisset led off with a walk before Forlow singled. Unfortunately, the pair would be stranded at second-and-third as RHP Matt Quintana kept the visitors at bay.

Siena picked up two more runs in the bottom of the seventh before Manhattan threatened in the eighth. Bisset singled with one out before Forlow walked and Kalousdian singled to load the bases. McClennan drew a bases-loaded walk to force in Bisset to cut the deficit to 8-4. Unfortunately, that would be it as LHP Kyano Cummings induced a fielder's choice grounder before getting a strikeout to evade further damage.

Cummings would get the final three outs in the ninth in securing his second save of the weekend and the sixth of the season.

Bisset, Genners and Santisteban each notched two hits to round out the multi-hit performers for the Jaspers.

Senior RHP Michael Scarinci (Nanuet, N.Y. / Pearl River) fell to 2-5 on the year, allowing five runs, three earned, on two hits with two strikeouts over 3.0 innings.

Ryan Bellomo (1-1) earned the win, striking out three over 2.2 innings of one-hit ball.

Manhattan returns to action with a doubleheader against NYIT at Dutchess Stadium on Tuesday, April 21 with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.
