BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's swimming and diving team dropped a meet to LIU Brooklyn by a final score of 147-107 on Friday evening.
With the loss, the Jaspers fall to 2-1 on the season, while LIU Brooklyn improves to 2-0.
Sophomore Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) and freshmen Megan Pagano (LaGrangeville, N.Y. / Arlington), Cassandra Rubino (Thiells, N.Y. / North Rockland) and Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, Pa. / Scranton) were named Co-Performers of the Meet by the Manhattan coaching staff.
Voitik continued her outstanding start to her freshman campaign by finishing first in two events. The freshman swam to a time of 2:00.06 in the 200 freestyle to take the top spot by over two seconds. Later in the meet, she broke her own school record in the 500 freestyle by clocking in at 5:18.67, shattering her previous mark of 5:21.94.
The Jaspers will return to action on Friday, Nov. 6, when both the men's and women's teams host VMI for a 6:30 p.m. meet at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.
