PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - For the second consecutive day, Manhattan and Villanova playd a low-scoring game that saw good pitching on both sides. For the second time, the Wildcats were able to pull out the victory, a 3-2 win over the Jaspers on Saturday afternoon.

Villanova scored in the bottom of the first on a Kevin Jewett RBI double as Joe Jacques held the Wildcats in check until the fifth inning, when Villanova pushed across two more after Todd Czinege tripled home two runners.

Villanova starter JB Kole quieted the Manhattan bats through six innings until the Jaspers got to the Villanova bullpen in the seventh.

Matt Forlow ripped a run-scoring single to plate Manhattan's first run of the game, then Jose Carrera followed with a run-scoring triple to continue his strong weekend at the plate. That made it a 3-2 game heading into the eighth inning. From that point, Villanova closer Matt Meurer retired the final six batters of the game to earn the save for the second straight contest.

Manhattan and Villanova will complete their three-game series Sunday, May 11 at 1:15 p.m.
