SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall scored five times in the seventh inning to break open a 2-0 game and defeat Manhattan, 8-0 in the final game of a weekend series between the two teams.
William Fabra gave Manhattan five solid innings, as he allowed two runs on six hits, keeping the Jaspers in the game at 2-0 before departing. Seton Hall starter Conor Krauss allowed just one base hit and three walks over four innings, and struck out six.
Krauss gave way to Luke Cahill, who earned the win with three shutout frames in which he yielded two hits and fanned three. Dan Ditusa and Steven Lombardi each worked scoreless frames to maintain the shutout.
Andrew Gorecki had two hits in three at-bats for the Jaspers. Joe McClennan also reached base twice, with a single and a walk.
Manhattan is back in action on Saturday, March 22 in a doubleheader with Quinnipiac in Hamden, Conn. to begin Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. First pitch on Saturday is at noon.
