ALBANY, N.Y. – In their final competition before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, the Manhattan College men's and women's cross country teams raced at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  Behind a sixth-place showing by Shane Beyer (Brick, N.J.), the Jasper men took fifth in the team standings.  The Manhattan women, meanwhile, placed seventh as a team.

Beyer's time of 25:51 was a personal-best for 8000 meters.  Following him across the line was Anthony Colasurdo (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) in 27th place (26:35).  Conor McDonough (Niskayuna, N.Y.) came in 10 seconds behind Colasurdo.  He was 33rd overall in 26:45.  Chris Orlando (Newburyport, Mass.) grabbed 36th place with a time of 26:50, while Stephen Chantry (Willamsburg, Va.) finished 39th in 26:55.  Kevin O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.) placed 40th in 26:56, and Erik Flores' (New York, N.Y.) time of 27:10 was good for 43rd place.

As a team, the Jaspers finished fifth with a total of 141 points.  Middlebury just edged Albany 44-47 for first place in the team standings.

On the women's side, Milena Stoicev (Nis, Serbia) led the way with a seventh-place showing.  She ran 5000 meters in 18:33.  Alexandra Cappello (Scarsdale, N.Y.), meanwhile, completed the course in 19:34 to grab 25th place.  After Alexa Roda (Staten Island, N.Y.) crossed the line in 42nd (20:07), the next three Jaspers finished one after another.  Alyssa Windle (Redlands, Calif.) was 46th in 20:11, while Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, N.J.) took 47th (20:12) and Samantha Manalastas (Smithtown, N.Y.) placed 48th (20:13).  Kaitlyn Rose Smith (Effort, Pa.)
