RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Aislinn McIlvenny and Janie Schlauder provided all the scoring Manhattan needed in a 2-0 shutout of Delaware State on Monday. McIlvenny and Schlauder were on the receiving end of a gorgeous setup by Martine Diamond as the Jaspers completed their non-conference slate with a win at Gaelic Park on Monday afternoon.

The Jaspers got on the board in the 15th minute when Diamond made a fantastic run down the left side with the ball. Her cross into the box found the foot of a sliding Aislinn McIlvenny, who found the back of the net for her second goal of the season.

Diamond then connected with Schlauder 12 minutes later. Again, she outran her defender down the middle and served a long ball into the box. Schlauder one-timed it past Delaware State goalkeeper Katelyn Koslosky for her third goal of the season, giving the Jaspers a 2-0 advantage.

Six minutes later, Manhattan had a chance to make it 3-0 but Koslosky made an incredible leaping save to punch out Emily Ude's rocket that appeared destined for the upper half of the goal.

Beginning the second half with a 2-0 lead, the Jaspers were able to deny a handful of solid chances by Delaware State through the first 20 minutes of the half. Manhattan had the majority of good scoring chances in the latter stages of the match, but Koslosky was able to keep it at a 2-0 margin.

Koslosky made five saves for Delaware State, while Manhattan goalkeeper Kristen Skonieczny had two stops in her second shutout of the season.

Manhattan begins MAAC play on Saturday, September 21 at Marist in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Game time is 4 p.m.
