Jaspers Hit the Road On Friday For Matchup With Siena

GAMEDAY
The Jaspers (14-12, 8-6 MAAC), the winners of five out of their last six, begin a stretch where they play three of their final four regular season games on the road tonight at Siena (8-15, 6-8 MAAC).  Manhattan moved into a tie for third place in the MAAC standings with a 59-54 home win over Iona on Wednesday night, while Siena has been off since suffering a 75-51 defeat against Marist on Sunday.  That loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Saints, who currently sit tied for sixth in the MAAC.

THE MANHATTAN JASPERS
Manhattan (14-12, 8-6 MAAC) has won five of its last six games, including its last two, to move into a tie for third place in the MAAC.  The Jaspers are coming off a 59-54 victory over Iona on Wednesday night.  Senior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer paces the team in both scoring and rebounding.  She averages 12.4 points and 6.3 boards per contest.  Loutsenhizer also leads the Jaspers in assists (2.5 apg) and ranks fifth in the league in steals (2.1 spg).  Sophomore guard Monica Roeder contributes 10.5 points and drains 2.0 three-pointers per outing, while senior guard/forward Schyanne Halfkenny notches 10.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.  Senior forward Nadia Peters ranks third in the MAAC in steals (2.2 spg) and sixth in blocks (1.0 bpg).  She also pulls down 4.8 rebounds a night.  The Jaspers return to Draddy Gymnasium for their final home game of the season against Saint Peter's on Sunday afternoon.

THE SIENA SAINTS 
Siena (8-15, 6-8 MAAC) saw its two-game winning streak snapped with a 75-51 loss to Marist on Sunday afternoon.  The Saints are currently in a three-way tie for sixth place in the MAAC.  Junior forward Lily Grenci ranks second in the MAAC in scoring.  She averages 15.7 points per game.  Grenci also pulls down a team-high 7.7 rebounds per contest, which ranks seventh in the league.  Senior guard Cristina Centeno contributes 11.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while leading the Saints in assists (3.9 apg) and steals (2.0 spg).  Freshman guard Tehresa Coles also collects 2.0 steals per contest, and she hands out 2.2 assists per game.  Senior guard Maja Gerlyng, the top three-point threat on the team, sinks 1.3 treys per outing, while sophomore forward Clara Sole Anglada grabs 5.9 rebounds to go along with a team-high 0.8 blocks a night.  Siena concludes its home schedule with a matchup against Rider on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
Manhattan and Siena are meeting for the 52nd time, with the Saints holding a 32-19 edge in the all-time series.  However, the Jaspers have won two straight against Siena, including a 56-53 triumph in Riverdale on Feb. 2.  Manhattan notched a 48-45 victory at Siena last season, but that game was held at the Times Union Center.  The Jaspers haven't won at the Alumni Recreation Center since Dec. 7, 2007.

LAST TIME OUT
Lindsey Loutsenhizer notched her fourth double-double of the season, as the Jaspers led from start to finish to pick up an important 59-54 victory over Iona on Wednesday night at Draddy Gymnasium.  Manhattan scored the first five points of the game and led 12-3 seven minutes in.  The Jaspers held a 32-22 advantage at halftime, then extended their cushion to a game-high 15 points, 43-28, early in the second half.  Iona chipped away at the lead, getting within six at 52-46 before Schyanne Halfkenny scored seven straight points for the Jaspers.  The Gaels pulled within five at 59-54, but missed a pair of late three-pointers, and Manhattan held on for its fifth win in six games.  Loutsenhizer finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Halfkenny tallied a team-high 14 points and Alyssa Herrington added 11.
