GAMEDAY
After starting the season with three games in the Preseason Women's NIT (WNIT), Manhattan (1-2) begins its traditional non-conference schedule by making the short trip to Army (3-1) this evening.  The Jaspers picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, notching an 86-53 victory over East Tennessee State in Lake Charles, La.  Army is also coming off a win, 51-37 over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.  This is the fourth contest of a season-opening five-game road trip for Manhattan.

THE MANHATTAN JASPERS
The Jaspers (1-2) picked up their first victory of the season with an 86-53 triumph over East Tennessee State in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT on Saturday afternoon.  Sophomore guard/forward Monica Roeder was named MAAC Player of the Week after notching a career-high 35 points and a school-record eight treys in that game.  Roeder ranks second in the MAAC in scoring (19.7 ppg) while leading the conference in field goal percentage (.553), three-point percentage (.632) and three-pointers (4.0 per game).  Senior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer contributes 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while senior guard/forward Schyanne Halfkenny averages 8.3 points and a team-best 6.3 boards per contest.  Halfkenny also leads the Jaspers with 2.7 steals per game.  Junior guard Maggie Blair, who handed out a career-high eight assists against ETSU, leads the Jaspers with 4.7 assists per contest.

THE ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS
Army (3-1) enters today's contest looking to extend a two-game winning streak.  The Black Knights are coming off a 51-37 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.  Sophomore guard/forward Jen Hazlett leads Army in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game.  She also paces the Black Knights in field goal percentage (.548) and three-point percentage (.538) while ranking second on the squad in rebounding (6.8 rpg).  Army's leading rebounder is freshman forward Olivia Schretzman, who pulls down 7.8 boards per contest.  Junior guard Anna Simmers contributes 10.7 points per game, while junior guard Molly Yardley pours in 10.3 points per outing.  Freshman guard Janelle Travis distributes a team-leading 2.8 assists per game.  The Black Knights, who were picked to finish seventh in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, are in the midst of a span where they open the season by playing five of their first six games at home.

SERIES HISTORY
The Jaspers and Black Knights are meeting for the fourth consecutive season and 13th time overall.  Manhattan has won the last two meetings, including a 56-42 victory last season at Draddy Gymnasium.  The last time the teams played at Christl Arena, the Jaspers notched a 65-52 triumph on Dec. 8, 2009.  Manhattan holds an 8-4 edge in the all-time series.

LAST TIME OUT
Monica Roeder drained a school-record eight three-pointers and finished with a career-high 35 points, as the Jaspers picked up their first win of the season, 86-53 over East Tennessee State in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT in Lake Charles, La.  It was Manhattan's first-ever victory in the event.  The Jaspers never trailed in the game, leading by as many as 10 points in the first half and holding a 37-31 edge at intermission.  The Lady Bucs pulled within five at 47-42 with 13:29 remaining in the second half before a 17-1 Manhattan run (featuring 11 consecutive points by Roeder) put the game out of reach.  The Jaspers ended the contest by scoring 20 of the final 25 points to seal an 86-53 victory.  Lindsey Loutsenhizer had 17 points, while Schyanne Halfkenny tallied 10 points and nine rebounds.
