RIVERDALE, N.Y. -
The Manhattan women's soccer team dropped its third straight league contest falling at Fairfield 2-0 on Friday. Junior Alyssa Decker tallied the game winning goal in the 26th minute and classmate Jasmin Corniel gave Fairfield (5-5-2, 1-0-1 MAAC) an insurance goal in the second half to knock off Manhattan (2-9-1, 0-3-0 MAAC).

The Lady Jaspers boasted a 56% (5-9) shot on goal percentage, but could not put one past Stags' goalkeeper Kelly Boudreau who stopped five shots to secure her seventh shutout this season. Manhattan goalie Kara Davis faced 15 shots and made four saves.

Decker got the Stags on the board just over the half way point in the first half. The Old Saybrook, Conn. native launched a free kick from just inside the midfield, it landed inside the six-meter box and bounced over the head of Davis.

Fairfield extended its lead in the 62nd minute when Spenser Allaway started a prosperous run down the sideline. Allaway pushed the ball ahead to Nicole Cavallaro, who then centered it to Corniel to finish the scoring drive.

Manhattan looks to snap its four game winless streak on Sunday afternoon at Iona. Kick off is set for 12 p.m. in New Rochelle, N.Y.
