RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? The Jaspers surrendered six first half goals, and eventually fell at Siena (8-6, 2-4) this afternoon in MAAC lacrosse action. Manhattan attackman Marc LaBelle connected on a pair of second half goals to lead the Jaspers' effort. Saints' attackmen Ryan Duggan and Matt Girsh combined for five goals of Siena's total output to snap Manhattan's (4-8, 3-3) two game winning streak.

Girsh connected on the first goal of the contest just 72 seconds into the game to put the Saints on top. Siena built upon its lead with five second half scores coming from Kenny Mazzone, Chris Zarins, Duggan and Girsh.

Siena entered intermission with a 6-0 advantage.

LaBelle put Manhattan on the scoreboard early in the third period with a crafty unassisted goal at the 12:57 mark. The Jaspers faced a 6-1 deficit going into the final stanza.

With 8:20 on the clock, Duggan registered his third goal of the game and 23 third on the season when he finished on a feed from teammate Shaun Dunn to regain a six goal cushion for Siena.

LaBelle responded with his second score of the game with 3:01 remaining to cut the Jaspers deficit to 7-2. It marked LaBelle's 15th point of the season.

Michael Llewellyn, a freshman midfielder, posted another score for the Jaspers with just under two minutes remaining, but it proved to be too little too late as Siena escaped with a four goal decision.

Manhattan returns to Riverdale for its final two home contests of the regular season. The Jaspers host St. Joseph's on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before the squad celebrates Senior Day prior to its contest with VMI on Saturday.
