Box Score vs. Cornell
Kissimmee, Fl. (March 26, 2008) - The Manhattan College Softball Team finished up their Rebel Spring Games as they lost to Lafayette 11-1, but beat Hartford 3-0. On their last day, the Lady Jaspers fell to two Ivy League opponents, losing 5-3 in eight innings to Cornell and 1-0 to Brown.
In their loss to Lafayette, Lauren Mende came in to pitch run, but ended up going 1-2 and scoring the Lady J's only run. Jaci Rahey led all players with 14 put outs in the game.
The Lady Jaspers rebounded to beat Hartford 3-0. In the top of the seventh, Manhattan drove in three runs as Rahey went 2-3 on the day driving the go ahead RBI. Melissa Donnelly recorded her second shutout of the season as she went all seven innings without giving up a run, giving up six hits and striking out seven.
Against Cornell, Jaclyn Churilla hit a three run homer in the top of the fourth. But it proved not to be enough as Cornell scored in the bottom of the eighth to win the game.
The Lady J's took on Brown in their last game down in Florida. Kristina Walraven recorded the only hit for the Lady Jaspers as they lost another nailbitter in the bottom of the seventh. Ashley Rampino pitched six scoreless innings, giving up only four hits.
The Lady Jaspers will return to action on Wednesday, April 2. They will travel to take on Wagner College for a doubleheader. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
