Box Score

RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Senior forward Fernando Londono buried his eighth goal of the season just 3:45 minutes into overtime, lifting the Manhattan College men's soccer team (4-13-2, 2-5-2 MAAC) to a 4-3 victory over Canisius (7-12-1, 3-6-0 MAAC) on Senior Day. Jaspers freshman Deia Nassar contributed two goals to the winning effort.

Nassar struck first for Manhattan in the 13th minute when he sent a header off a corner kick into the back of the net. Nicholas Patrikis assisted the play.

The Golden Griffins responded in the 15th minute when midfielder Kyle Westerholt delivered the equalizer. He gathered a loose ball in front of the net and slid it past Manhattan goalkeeper John Ciano.

Ciano patrolled the pipes for the entire contest and collected a game-high eight saves for the win.

Patrikis regained the Jaspers lead at the 48:19 mark when he finished on a lead pass from Londono. Londono penetrated through the Canisius defense and found Patrikis open on the run. It marked his first goal this season.

In the 62nd minute, Canisius's Eddie Powell tied the game at 2-2 with his sixth goal of the season. He placed the ball in the open right corner of the net.

Manhattan continued to battle, and in the 79th minute Nassar recorded his second goal of the match. Nassar got a piece of senior back Sean Morin's header, tipping it past Golden Griffins goalkeeper Adam Miller.

Canisius responded again less than three minutes later when Alan McGreal capitalized on a feed from Brian Patterson. The goal evened the contest at 3-3 and forced overtime.

Londono wasted little time before posting his third game winning goal of the year. In the 94th minute, he charged up the left sideline, beat his defender and chipped a shot past Miller to earn the sudden victory.

Manhattan outshot Canisius 27-15.

Manhattan completes the 2008 campaign 4-13-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the MAAC.
