Fairfield, Conn. (January 25, 2008) ? The Manhattan College Lady Jasper swim team lost 123-76 to Fairfield University in a dual meet held at Fairfield University.
Highlighting the Lady Jasper effort was a one, two finish in the 100 meter breaststroke, with freshman Kayla Hutzler winning the event in m1:26.80 and freshman Debbie Atwell taking second in 1:30.08. The Lady Jaspers also took one, two in the 800 meter freestyle relay with the team of junior Megan O'Keefe, sophomore Megan Goldrick, sophomore Kellie Monaco and senior Maura McGowan taking first in 10:11.90 and the team of freshman Allaire O'Connor, junior Anne Mohan, freshman Diana Rossetti and senior Michelle LaTouche swimming second in 11:40.25.
The Lady Jaspers also took first and second in the 1500 meter freestyle event as Mohan swam the event in 22:16.04 and sophomore Julie Ostman swimming in 23:06.93.
The Lady Jaspers squad will next swim at the Eastern State Championships at the Nassau Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y. The meet will start at 8 a.m.
