Riverdale, N.Y. ? The Lady Jaspers dropped a tough match to Fairleigh Dickinson University 3-0.
In the first game, it was a see-saw battle between the two teams. Fairleigh Dickinson pulled away as the Knights took the first game 30-22. The second game was much of the same as the first, Manhattan battling with their opponents for the lead. The second game went to Fairleigh Dickinson, 30-22. The third game was a tough battle. In the third game, with Manhattan down by 7,23-16, the Lady Jaspers showed resiliency going on a 8-2 run to pull within 2, 26-24 but couldn't complete the comeback and lost 30-26.
Alyssa Getzel paced the offense with 29 assists. Rita Welsh and Andrea Reiff both hit for 10 kills apiece. Katie Kerbstat had a game high 13 digs in Manhattan's defeat.
The Lady Jaspers will travel cross country to participate in the Sacramento State Invitational on Friday and Saturday. They will take on the home school Sacramento State University as well as Oregon State University and Cal State Northridge.
