Philadelphia, Pa. (March 2, 2007)- Manhattan played Drexel even in the second half, but could not overcome a big halftime deficit, dropping a 14-3 decision to the Dragons this afternoon at Vidas Field on the Drexel campus. The Lady Jaspers fall to 0-2 on the season.
Drexel controlled the first half, scoring all 11 goals to take a big lead into the locker room.
The Dragons scored the first goal of the second half before the Lady Jaspers got on the board with 20:20 left in the game on a goal by Lauren Civardi. After Drexel scored the next two goals, Manhattan closed out the game with a two goal spurt. Jenny Carman scored the first with 3:51 left before Brenna Tinari closed out the scoring off an assist from Helen Kerrisk with 2:21 to play.
Ashley Devins tallied six saves for Manhattan.
Manhattan returns to action on Sunday, March 4, traveling to Hamden, Conn. to take on the Quinnipiac University Bobcats at 1:00 p.m.
