West Point, N.Y. (April 12, 2006)- Three Manhattan errors led to five unearned runs, as the Jaspers dopped a 7-1 decision at Army this afternoon at Doubleday Field.
Nick Derba and
Matt Rizzotti accounted for four of Manhattan's five hits, as the Jaspers fall to 13-12 on the season.
Manhattan plated the game's first run, as Rizzotti's double down the left field line plated Derba, who drew a one-out walk.
The Black Knights tied the score with an unearned run in the fourth, and took the lead in the fifth with a two-out RBI single.
Army blew the game open in the seventh, pushing across five runs, four unearned.
Mike Gazzola (1-2) allowed one earned run over five innings, striking out four.
Matt Nevins worked two innings, striking out three and allowing one earned run.
Jeremy Shaw worked a hitless eighth.
Derba finished 2-3 with a run and a walk, while Rizzotti went 2-4 with an RBI.
