WAGNER DOWNS WOMEN'S LACROSSE, 14-8

Staten Island, N.Y. (March 29, 2006)- Manhattan trailed by just one, 6-5, early in the second half, but Wagner scored eight of the game's final 11 goals to post a 14-8 win this afternoon at Wagner College Stadium. Lauren Civardi paced the Lady Jasper offense with three goals as Manhattan falls to 2-4 on the season.

The two teams traded goals for much of the first half, before, with the score tied at 4-4, the Seahawks scored the final two goals of the first half to take a 6-4 lead into the locker room.

After Civardi's second tally of the game brought the Lady Jaspers within a goal, 6-5, with 26:42 left in the game, Wagner scored seven of the next eight goals to open up the game.

Manhattan scored two of the final three goals of the game to reach the final tally.

Ashley Devins made 12 saves in net for Manhattan.

Alicia Psillos (one goal, one assist) joined Civardi with a multi-point day.

The Lady Jaspers get back in action this weekend, opening MAAC play against Niagara on Saturday, April 1, and Canisius on Sunday, April 2. Both games are slated to begin at 10:00 a.m.
