Riverdale, N.Y. (October 26, 2005)--Behind a match-high 17 kills for senior
Maggie Pfeifer, Manhattan Volleyball rolled past Fairleigh Dickinson University in three games (30-22, 30-25, 30-25) on Wednesday night at Draddy Gym. The non-conference victory puts the Lady Jaspers above the .500 mark for the first time since opening day, as Manhattan is now 14-13 overall with a 3-1 record in MAAC play.
Pfeifer, who has earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors four times already this season, hit a whopping .556 on the night, as Manhattan cruised to victory. Senior setter
Lori Bambauer dished out 31 assists, while freshman setter
Alyssa Getzel added another 15 for the Lady J's.
The Lady Jaspers were in control throughout the duration of the contest, as they never trailed in games one or three of the match. After a slow start to the second frame, in which they trailed 14-10 at one point, the Lady J's pulled even at 18 on a Pfeifer kill and would not look back.
Manhattan senior
Megan O'Dorisio notched nine kills in the win to go with six digs, while sophomore
Ashley Watson dug up a team-high 10 attacks.
Manhattan Volleyball returns to the court on October 29 at 2:00 p.m., as they host Northeast Conference opponent Sacred Heart University at Draddy Gym.
