BLACK KNIGHTS CAPTURE 2-0 WIN AGAINST WOMEN'S SOCCER

West Point, NY (September 3, 2004)-The Black Knights scored two goals in today's match-up against the Lady Jaspers beating the Jaspers, 2-0. Manhattan falls to a 0-2-0 record and West Point improves to 1-2-0.

Manhattan goalkeeper Kiera Fox and the rest of the Lady Jaspers kept the Black Knights scoreless for the first half. Fox saved four shots keeping the Jaspers in the game leaving the half in a 0-0 tie.

In the 64th minute, Black Knight Leigh Cosco scored the game winning goal off a pass from teammate Lynn Janick. Cosco gave the Knight's a two goal lead with less than nine minutes to play in the second half when she placed it to the right side of Lady Jasper's freshman goalkeeper Alicia DeFino.

Despite the two goals DeFino allowed in the second half she had a fantastic game saving nine of the 21 shots faced and 11 shots on goal.

The Lady Jaspers play again on Sunday, September 5 at 1 p.m. against the Yale Bulldogs in New Haven, CT.
