Bronx, NY (September 19, 2004)-Women's soccer dropped a 4-0 decision against Bronx rival the Fordham Rams. The loss drops the Lady J's to a 0-6-0 overall record and gives the Rams their fourth win of the season.
The scoring began in the 17th minute when Fordham's Laura Muzzatti grabbed a rebound in front of the Manhattan net beating keeper
Kiera Fox. Ram Breean Daley made it a 2-0 game in the 30th minute when teammate Holly Laubinger played a cross into the box and Daley headed the ball to the top right corner of the net.
The 2-0 score would hold until the half but Fordham came out in the 55th minute and made the score 3-0 after Laubinger fed a through pass to Leah Jerome who beat Lady Jasper
Kelly Boyle, who made her first appearance in goal this season for the Jaspers. With 28 minutes left to play Manhattan's
Christine Abrams ripped a rebound at the goalkeeper earning a corner kick for the Lady Jaspers. Unfortunately, the Lady J's could not finish the corner kick.
Laubinger closed the scoring with 22 minutes left of regulation time finishing a scramble in front of Manhattan's net.
Kiera Fox played the first 45 minutes for the Lady J's saving six, while Boyle played the last 45 minutes saving five for Manhattan.
The Lady J's play again on Friday, September 24 when they travel to Robert Morris in Pittsburgh, PA. Game time is 1pm.
