Piscataway, NJ (April 6, 2004) - After winning four straight conference games the Jaspers fell to Big East member No. 14 Rutgers tonight at the Yurcak Field in Piscataway, NJ, 10-6. With the loss, the Jaspers fall to 5-3 overall. The Jaspers had six players with at least one point in the loss. Freshman
Nick Cacciatore led the way for the Jaspers tallying two goals.
The Scarlet Knights shutout the Jaspers in the first quarter, and capitalized with three straight goals in five minutes, giving Rutgers the 3-0 edge at the end of the quarter.
The two teams exchanged goals in the second quarter. John Flanagan netted the fourth straight goal for Rutgers at the 7:54 mark. Manhattan countered with their first goal at 5:21, when
Justin Otto netted his lone goal of the game.
Nick Cacciatore cut the lead to 4-2, with the first goal of the second half. The Scarlet Knights responded with two straight goals, extending their lead to 6-2.
A Leif Bloomquist goal at the 13:58 mark, gave Rutgers the 7-2 lead. The Jaspers quickly responded with three straight goals cutting the lead to 7-5. Rutgers escaped the comeback by netting two goals to give them the 9-5 advantage. Each team would score a goal each before the end of regulation, making the final 10-6 Rutgers.
Justin Otto netted one goal and one assist, totaling 2 points.

John Landers made eight saves for the Jaspers in goal.
