MEN'S LACROSSE DOWNS LAFAYETTE, 6-2

Easton, PA - (March 10, 2004) - The Jaspers in their third game of the season downed Lafayette, 6-2 at Rappolt Field in Easton, PA. With the win the Jaspers improve to 2-1 overall. Eugene Tanner led the way with two goals and one assist, totaling three points.

The Jaspers got on the scoreboard at 13:33 mark in the first quarter with a Nick Cacciatore unassisted goal. Christian Schaefers with 1:13 remaining in the quarter tallied a goal making the score 2-0 to end the quarter.

Both teams remained scoreless for much of the second quarter until Tanner tallied his first goal of the day at the 6:47 mark, making the score 3-0. With 3:04 remaining in the quarter Lafayette got on the board with a Luke Ryan goal. Mike Scolaro eight seconds later tallied Lafayette's second goal of the day to pull within one, ending the scoring for the half, 3-2.

Christian Schaefers netted the lone goal of the third quarter and his second of the day at the 12:50 mark. Justin Otto and Eugene Tanner netted a goal each to end the scoring for the day, capturing the 6-2 victory. Manhattan managed to hold the Leopards scoreless for the half.

In the net, Rob Busweiler made 12 stops, while Michael Koch stopped 13 for the Leopards.

The Jaspers are back in action when they head to Emmitsburg, MD to face Mt. Saint Mary's next Wednesday, March 17 at 3 pm.
