Riverdale, NY (September 20, 2003)- The Lady Jaspers lost a 2-1 decision over the Rams today at Gaelic Park. Manhattan is now 0-6-0 for the season.
Manhattan opened the scoring at the 39:20 mark when
Brandy Luther (Pueblo, CO) passed to
Jess Garcia (Pueblo, CO) who lofted the ball over Fordham goalkeeper Shannon Misiaszek for a 1-0 lead. The Lady Jaspers played tough defense keeping the rams scoreless for the first half.
Five minutes into the second half the ball deflected off of a Manhattan player and rolled into the net tying the score 1-1. Ram's Sarah Hopkins picked up the game winner at the 69:02 mark when she fired a shot from the top of the box into the lower right corner. The Lady Jaspers kept fighting but they couldn't finish the ball.
