Jacksonville, FL (September 12, 2003)- Manhattan College was defeated today by the University of Jacksonville, by a score of 4-0. The Lady Jaspers lost their fourth straight game making their record 0-4-0.
Jacksonville's Hilary Bricken got the game winning goal for the Dolphins when she took off on a breakaway on the left side at the 3:36 mark placing the ball past Manhattan goalkeeper
Cathy Mitchell (Windsor, CT). The second goal of the game came at 11:25 when Ranveig Aas-Hanssen passed the ball to Inge Reirmans to give the Dolphins a 2-0 lead. Manhattan outshot the Dolphins 12-9 in the first half but could not find the back of the net.
In the second half Jacksonville's Aas-Hanssen put the game out of reach when she shot a ripper from ten yards out at 76:51 for a 3-0 lead. The Dolphins outshot Manhattan in the second half 10-5.
Both starting goalkeepers, Mitchell and Jacksonville's Sarah Scalese, had five saves for the day. Jacksonville's Stephani Lounsberry also played goal saving one shot for the Dolphins.
The Lady Jaspers play again on Sunday, September 14 when they play Stetson University in DeLand, FL at 11:00 a.m.
