VOLLEYBALL WINS 12th STRAIGHT, 3-0, OVER FDU

Riverdale, NY (November 1, 2003)- The Manhattan College volleyball team ran its win streak to 12 and its home win streak to 18 matches with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-21, 30-23) win over the visiting Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights today at Draddy Gym. Maggie Pfeifer paced the Lady Jaspers, hitting at a .571 clip.

Manhattan (15-10, 7-0 MAAC), which posted a perfect 11-0 record in the month of October, began November by jumping out to an 11-4 lead in the first game, and cruised to a 30-25 win. In the second game, the Lady Jaspers hit .395 as a team and went on to the 30-21 victory. Game three saw seven ties over the first 20 points. With the score tied at 10-10, Manhattan ran off three straight points and pulled away for the 30-23 win.

Pfeifer posted nine kills and two block assists, while Luke Van Cauteren chipped in with 12 kills, 15 assists, and seven digs. Lori Bambauer posted a match-high 30 assists, Krista Thorsen tallied a match-high 14 digs, and freshman Whitney Judkins posted eight kills and a .412 attack percentage.

The Knights (4-25, 0-4 NEC) were led by Michelle Feiser, who posted team-highs with nine kills and 18 assists. Sharon Becker added six kills and a team-high 10.

The Lady Jaspers return to action on Monday, November 3, when they host Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. at Draddy Gym.
