SVENSSOHN EARNS SECOND PLACE IN THE DECATHLON AT THE SEA RAY RELAYS

Knoxville, TN (April 10, 2004)- Rajne Svenssohn took second place in the Decathlon earning 7,313 points, which is a NCAA Provisional score. In the women's 1500m Therese Forsberg placed 19th out of 41 runners finishing in a time of 4:34.56 qualifying for the ECAC. Michanne Campbell also qualified for the ECAC in the Triple Jump after her jump of 11.96, finishing 14th out of 38 jumpers.

Thomas Jacob Freeman earned fourth place overall in the Hammer Throw Competition tossing it 68.40m. Freeman was the top collegiate athlete finisher. In the Shot Put, Anders Constantin threw 15.24m.

Also, competing at the Sea Ray Relays was Assistant Coach Lauren Primerano. She competed in the Javelin earning a fourth place finish after her throw of 44.90m.

Other Jaspers were competing at the Columbia Invitational in the Decathlon and Heptathlon. Nils Petterson is leading after the first day in the Decathlon with 3,072 points. In his first Collegiate Decathlon Andrew Pellet is currently in second place with 3,056 points. In the Heptathlon, Jessica Jansson is leading the women with 2,456 points. Stephanie Morris is in third place with 2,311 points.
