NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Manhattan Women's Track & Field team returned to competition on Friday at The Armory for the Ramapo College Season Opener. The Jaspers tallied eight personal records and one season-best mark among its competing student-athletes on Friday.
HIGHLIGHTS

Freshman Tranira Booker was the young star of the show for the Jaspers, setting a pair of personal bests in the 60m races and recording a season-best performance in the 200m. In the 60m qualifying heat, Booker registered a new best of 7.85 before one upping that in the finals with a time of 7.84.

Booker was timestamped at 26.27 in the 200m.

Freshman Mikaella Martin made noise, too, setting a new personal-best time of 2:17.56 in the 800m, earning 3rd place overall.

Senior Alexandra Caraher delivered a 3rd-place showing in the Women's Weight Throw by virtue of a 16.02m throw.

In the 3000m race, senior Kylie Conroy breezed past her previous PR by just under four seconds and clocked in at 10:16.6. Conroy crossed the finish line in 8th place and junior Bella Cannizzo seized 11th at 10:35.88.

Freshman Victoria Baker left a lasting impression on her peers with a personal record of 1.57m in the High Jump.

Freshman Ellianne Fernandez notched 14th in the 400m. Fernandez's classmate, SaRae Kennard, took 20th in the 200m with a personal record of 27.10. Senior Anne Hagan pushed herself to a new PR of 2:34.82 in the 800m.

Manhattan will return to The Armory next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 24-25) for the Dr. Sander Invitational hosted by Columbia University.
