Manhattan dropped Wednesday night's match at Iona by a score of 3-1 (25-14, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23), conceding the season series to the Gaels, 2-0.

Manhattan took advantage of seven errors from Iona in the opening set to post their second largest margin of victory (11) in a set all season. The Jaspers scored eight straight off Chloe Anderson's service to put the visitors in control, 15-4, and on a fast track toward taking set one.

Iona swiped the momentum back early in set two, riding it to a 25-21 win. In set three, Manhattan was plagued by nine errors, which further stalled their momentum en route to 25-19 loss. The Jaspers dropped the fourth set, 25-23, after giving up the last four points.

Maike Bertens had 19 kills to lead Manhattan while Katie Powers contributed 13 kills to continue her recent offensive success. Sarah Emmons registered 39 assists.
