Jersey City, NJ – Manhattan is making the short drive back to Riverdale with 1-0 win in their pockets thanks to Corrine Jackson'ss game-winning goal in the 76th minute. In dispatching the Peacocks, the Jaspers moved to 15 points, and will see where they stand following the rest of the results around the league.

Despite having trouble mustering offense on Saturday, Manhattan remained patient and waited for their chance to break the 0-0 scoreline. It was Jackson whose ball into a dangerous spot in the box trickled into the net.

Molly Brunk posted her eighth shutout in 2024 by making five saves this afternoon.

"Today's game was a test for us on just how bad we want to win," said senior forward Nicolette Caneda. "It wasn't the prettiest but we worked together to get the three points that we have worked hard all season to deserve."

Coaches Reaction

Head coach Brendan Lawler: "We went into a difficult environment on the road against a hard-nosed and well-organized opponent and got three points. This was a huge result for us today."

Standings implications

Manhattan sits with 15 points in fifth place, which puts them ahead of Iona following the Gaels' 2-1 loss to Quinnipiac. The top eight teams qualify for the MAAC Tournament.

Next Time Out
