Jersey City, NJ - Manhattan went out ahead early on a goal from Ziv Dahan in the 18th minute, but Saint Peter's drew even in the 27th minute and the rest of the way at Lincoln Park remained unsettled. The Jaspers outshot the Peacocks, 21-8, firmly testing the will of Peacocks' goalkeeper Pedro Alves.
Sophomore forward Ziv Dahan was the one who cashed in on Manhattan's counter attack when the goal-minded striker was there to head in a ball that initially hit the post from the foot of senior forward Sebastiano Musu. Dahan and Musu—who have combined for 8 of Manhattan's 13 goals—combined for a nice give and go during the play's build up.
Due to the physical style of play, the game stalled at times as Saint Peter's was whistled for 21 fouls to Manhattan's 11. Manhattan couldn't take advantage of their opportunities on the set piece while playing away from the comfort of turf.
Sophomore forward Kavyon Gray recorded 7 shots total and 4 on net over his 65 minutes of action. Six Jaspers gave everything they had by playing the full 90 minutes.
Manhattan walks away with a crucial point putting them in a three-way tie for fifth place with Fairfield and Sacred Heart. The result also marked the third straight 1-1 decision between Manhattan and Saint Peter's dating back to 2022.
Coaches' Reaction
Head coach Jorden Scott on the importance of getting a point on the road: "It was a hard earned point on the road in one of the most challenging environments in the country. We had to adapt who we were in terms of our identity. Getting points on the road in the MAAC is really difficult no matter where you go. For us to get a point, we'll take it and move on."
Scott on re-fueling for the final 5 games of the regular season: "Now we take an 11-day break and we're able to get healthy and then we'll get into that stretch of five games in two and a half weeks and we're looking forward to playing at home again."
