RIVERDALE, N.J. - The No. 4 seed Manhattan men's soccer team topped No. 5 seed Niagara, 2-0, tonight at Gaelic Park to advance to the semifinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament.

"What another incredible night under the lights at Gaelic Park. We had a few key parts of our team return at the right time and our performance was as good as it's been all season," sadi head coach Jorden Scott. "We will recover and get ready to head back to the place that ended our season last year. There is no greater motivation."

The match opened with both teams trading possession for the majority of the first half before Nassim Akki passed to Henry Hamilton, who found a wide-open Sebastiano Musu on the right side, who had a clear view of the net as he scored the goal with ease in the 36th minute.

The goal would stand for the rest of the period, as the Jaspers went into intermission with a 1-0 advantage. Danny DiMarco had a pair of saves at the break, while the Purple Eagles led in shots 4 to 3.

The Jaspers came back from the break, applying pressure to the ball and keeping Niagara on their feet. It was in the 81st minute that Gunnar Stufenhofft passed the ball to Henry Hamilton on the right side of the net, where he squeezed the ball in for Manhattan's second goal of the day. The goal got the Manhattan crowd on their feet and the Jasper players off the bench.

DiMarco finished with three saves for the Jaspers.

The Jaspers will continue to play in the MAAC Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 9 at Iona. The match is set for 1 p.m.
