RIVERDALE., N.Y. - No. 4 seed Manhattan men's soccer (6-7-3, 6-3-1 MAAC) hosts No. 5 seed Niagara (4-9-3, 4-4-2 MAAC) this Sunday at 4 p.m. at Gaelic Park in the first round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament.
Leading the Way: Eight different players have scored at least one goal this season, led by Gunnar Studenhofft's seven goals. Henry Hamilton has six goals, while Sebastiano Musu has three goals. Danny DiMarco has made seven starts at the goalkeeper position this season. He has made 45 saves at the goalkeeper spot after facing 130 shots.
The Path: Manhattan enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed, having had a chance to finish as high as first place in the last week of play. Manhattan had a four-match win streak in the middle of the season, including having started MAAC play with a 5-0 record.
Last Time vs. Niagara: Niagara defeated the Jaspers 1-0 on Oct. 14 with a goal in the 67th minute to upset the Jaspers and hand them their first loss in league play.
Tournament History: Manhattan is in search of its first MAAC Championship. The Jaspers have advanced to the MAAC Tournament for three straight seasons. Last year, the Jaspers advanced to the semifinals, before falling to Iona, 1-0.
