Jaspers Fall to Niagara 2-1

Riverdale, NY — Manhattan fell to Niagara 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Niagara Field. After jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in the opening minutes, the Jaspers couldn't hold on as Niagara delivered to two unanswered goals in the second half to claim victory. 

*Oswald Annang put Manhattan on the board in the eighth minute with his fourth goal of the season. Following the fast start, Manhattan had two more shots on net the rest of the way with Niagara goalie Nick Burke registering four saves.

*Sophomore goalie Danny DiMarco had eight saves in the loss. 

*Niagara's comeback started with a goal by Rodrigo Almeida in the 56th minute before Jelldrik Dallmann capped the scoring with the game-winner in the 62nd minute. 


*Niagara outshot Manhattan 23-11 on the afternoon with Dorian Bounab pacing the Jaspers in attempts. 


*With the loss, Manhattan dropped to 2-5-2 on the season and are now 0-2-1 in MAAC play. Meanwhile, Niagara improved to 3-6 on the season with a 1-1 mark in MAAC play. 

*The game marked the seventh time this season that the Jaspers were held to one goal or less. The Jaspers won two of those contests with their 1-0 victories over Lehigh and Fordham. 


*Manhattan returns to action on Oct. 13 when they play at Fairfield (2-5-1,1-1-0 MAAC).
