Brooklyn, NY –
St. Francis Brooklyn used two second half goals to pull away from Manhattan and capture a 3-1 victory on Saturday night at Poly Prep Day School.

The Terriers (4-1-1) opened the scoring in the 38th minute after a Jasper foul in the box led to a penalty kick. Yoann Assoumin stepped to the circle and put home the shot for the first score of the game. St. Francis Brooklyn added to their advantage in the second stanza with goals from Edoardo Belfanti in the 67th minute and El Mahdi Youssoufi in the 75th minute.

Manhattan (0-5) remained aggressive throughout the evening and was able to covert an opportunity in the 88th minute when junior Berti Fourrier (Marseille, France / IFC Marseille) flicked a pass to junior Moritz Riegel (Hannover, Germany / Leibniz Universität Hannover), and Reigel sent a beautiful long range shot past the keeper and into the back of the net. The Jaspers' score cut the lead to 3-1, but unfortunately the visitors were unable to get any closer. Manhattan outshot St. Francis Brooklyn 13-11 on the evening, while just being edged by the Terriers in corners (4-3) and shots on goal (4-3).

The Jaspers will next turn their attention towards the Battle of the Bronx, as Manhattan will make the short trek down the Mosholu Parkway to take on the Fordham on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Jack Coffey Field.
