Detroit, MI -
Manhattan dropped a 10-5 decision to Detroit Mercy in MAAC action at Titan Field.

The Jaspers fall to 5-6 and 1-3 in the MAAC while the Titans improve to 7-3 and 4-1 in the league.

After Detroit Mercy scored the first two goals of the game, senior Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) found sophomore Sean MacKinney (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) for the first Manhattan score. Senior William Ratchford (Mountain Lakes, NJ / Mountain Lakes) then found the back of the net just over a minute later on a fastbreak opportunity, drawing the Jaspers even at 2-2 with 3:30 to play in the stanza.

Unfortunately, the Titans would respond with six-straight scores in jumping out to an 8-2 advantage at the 3:57 mark of the second quarter.

Manhattan would quickly quell the spurt, as sophomore Jake Nicolosi (West Islip, NY / West Islip) answered off a CJ Scharf (Jr., West Islip, NY / West Islip) feed to end the first-half scoring.

After halftime, the Jaspers trimmed the deficit to 8-4 with 5:33 to play in the third quarter when junior Brandon Grinnell (Wakefield, MA / Wakefield Memorial) scored a man-up goal off a pass from classmate Luke Hanson's (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley).

Detroit Mercy would not allow the visitors to get any closer, scoring the next two goals to push its advantage back out to six, before Hanson found freshman Liam Walshe (Commack, NY / Commack) for the fifth and final Manhattan goal of the game.

Sophomore Brendan Krebs (East Williston, NY / Chaminade) made 14 saves in registering double-figures for the ninth time this year to go along with a team-high five ground balls between the pipes.

Brett Erskine had two goals to lead the way for the Titans while Logan Shamblin made 14 saves in earning the win.
