Hartford, CT - Sophomore Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) scored three unanswered goal to lift Manhattan to a thrilling 14-13 come-from-behind, double-overtime victory over Hartford in non-conference action.

Trailing 13-11 with 2:27 to play, junior Joseph Bressingham (Glen Cove, NY / Nassau CC) won the face-off and got the ball to Giarratana, who quickly found the net just seven seconds later in making it a one-goal game. The Hawks won the ensuing possession and appeared to have the game in hand but were forced into a turnover. Giarratana made Hartford pay with the game-tying goal with two seconds remaining.

In the first overtime, the Hawks won the opening possession and had every opportunity to earn the win only to be denied by Manhattan each time.

Bressingham then won the opening face-off of the second overtime and following a timeout, Giarratana found the back of the net for his second overtime game-winner of the year.

With the victory, second-year head coach Drew Kelleher improves to a perfect 3-0 in overtime match-ups while avenging last year's 12-goal loss to a Hartford team that would win the America East Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Giarratana was outstanding in notching a personal-best seven points while matching his career-high with a season-best five goals.

The Jaspers improve to 2-2 while the Hawks fall to 0-3.

Hartford sprinted out to a 7-2 lead with 10:23 to play in the second quarter and appeared to be in complete control. However, Manhattan had other ideas as freshman Reid Martin (Buffalo, NY / Canisius), classmate Luke Hanson (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) and Bressingham followed with unassisted scores before senior Matt Garvey (Essex Falls, NJ / West Essex) found the back of the net off a Hanson feed in trimming the deficit to 7-6 at the 2:31 mark of the second quarter.

The Hawks would quickly answer with a goal to end the stanza before opening the second-half scoring in opening up a 9-6 lead with 13:06 to play in the third.

Giarratana then began the Jasper comeback with his second goal of the game before freshman CJ Scharf (West Islip, NY / West Islip), senior Alex Abiog (Saratoga, CA / Bellarmine College Prep) and Garvey tacked on scores in giving Manhattan its first lead of the game at 10-9.

In what would prove to be a back-and-forth match, Hartford then ripped off a 4-1 run in jumping out in front 13-11 with 2:27 remaining in regulation while setting the stage for a dramatic Manhattan victory.

Junior Michael Zingaro (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Walter Panas) was outstanding in net, making 12 saves in moving to 2-2 on the year.

Garvey added three goals to join Giarratana with multiple scores for the Jaspers.

Griffin Feiner, Justin Huggins and Dylan Jinks all notched three goals to pace Hartford.

Manhattan will look to make it two in a row against Saint Joseph's on Saturday, March 4 with opening face-off slated for 1:00 pm at Gaelic Park.
