Riverdale, NY - The Manhattan College women's basketball team (2-5) is back at Draddy Gymnasium Wednesday, December 6 to take on the UAlbany Great Danes (5-2) at 7 p.m. This is the Jaspers' third home game of the season and comes before a three-game road swing before the start of MAAC play on December 28.
Top Storylines:
- Manhattan is 1-1 all-time against UAlbany. The two teams last played in November 2010, with Manhattan falling to the Great Danes in the final seconds of the game. The Jaspers first met UAlbany in 1999, winning 74-56.
- Senior guard Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY / James Madison) is the current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) leader in assists (5.7 per game) and steals (3.0 per game).
- Kayla Grimme (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) now ranks 17th on the Jaspers' all-time scoring list at 1,085 points. She is just 18 points behind Kelly Regan (1,103), who played 109 games for Manhattan from 2005-09.
- Grimme is currently tied for third in the MAAC in scoring at 16.0 points per game, and also sits at second place for rebounds per game (8.7) this season.
- Sophomore guard Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) leads the MAAC in field-goal percentage, shooting 50 percent so far this season. Cajou is 23-46 in seven games played, including 5-11 from three-point range. She has shot 50 percent or better in six games this year and is averaging 8.1 points per game.
- This year, the Great Danes were chosen to finish second in their league's 2017-18 preseason poll. They are led by America East preseason all-conference selection Jessica Féquière, who is averaging 19.9 points per game. Mackenzie Trpcic leads the America East in assists (5.6) per game.
