Bronx, NY - Fordham broke open a close game with a pair of big innings en route to defeating Manhattan 12-3 in non-conference action at Houlihan Park.

Junior Jose Carrera (Miami, FL / St. Brendan) went 2-for-4 with a walk, stolen base and RBI to pace an eight-hit Jasper attack. Senior Christian Santisteban (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) also notched a pair of hits, finishing up 2-for-4 with a double and walk while reaching base safely for the eighth-straight game to start the season.

In defeat, Manhattan falls to 1-6 while the Rams improve to 4-7.

Freshman RHP Marc Galvan (Manasquan, NJ / Manasquan) was solid in relief, allowing no earned runs with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings of work.

Joseph Runco went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI while Luke Stampfl hit a grand slam to lead the way for Fordham.

Ben Greenberg improved to 3-0, striking out six over 5.0 innings of one-run ball.

The Jaspers return to action on Wednesday, May 9 at NYIT with first pitch slated for 3:00 pm.
