Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's swimming & diving teams concluded the regular season with a tri-meet against NJIT and St. Francis Brooklyn. The Highlanders posted a 155-79 victory over the Jaspers while the Terriers were victorious by a 121-84 count.
Despite losses, Manhattan ended the season with an impressive 5-4 record.
Freshman Evan Battisti (East Meadow, N.Y. / East Meadow), junior Rich Llewellyn (East Islip, N.Y. / East Islip) and senior Dallan Treanor (Monroe, N.Y. / Monroe-Woodbury) led the way for the Jaspers and were recognized as the Manhattan Performers of the Meet.
Llewellyn took second in the 200-freestyle in 1:48.03, finishing less than a second behind the winner, while placing fourth in the 100-butterfly in 54.07 and was a member of the 200-medley relay that finished second in 1:39.83.
Treanor also was a member of the 200-medley relay and took third in the 100-breakstroke (1:04.48) and eighth in the 100-freestyle (51.20).
Battisti also swam a leg of the 200-freestyle relay and was second in the 500-freestyle (4:54.77) and third in the 1000-freestyle (10:12.25).
The Jaspers return to action at the MAAC Championships from February 10-13 in Buffalo, NY.
