WAPPINGERS, FALL, N.Y.
- Despite a career-high seven strikeouts from freshman LHP Tom Cosgrove (Staten Island, N.Y. / Farrell), Manhattan dropped a 7-0 decision to Hofstra under the lights at Dutchess Stadium.

In defeat, the Jaspers fall to 9-23 while the Pride improves to 13-19.

Cosgrove (1-3) fanned seven and did not walk a batter over his 6.0 innings of work after striking out six in a previous start against the visitors.

Hofstra grabbed the lead with a pair of first-inning runs as Brad Witkowski opened the scoring with a RBI triple before coming around to score on a Dalton Rouleau sacrifice fly.

Cosgrove then settled down and faced just two over the minimum in his next four innings of work before running into trouble in the sixth.

Steven Foster led off with a single before moving to second on a sacrifice. Rouleau then singled to shallow center field and took second on the throw back to the infield. David Leiderman followed with another bloop single to right field past a drawn-in infield to extend lead out to 4-0.

The Pride would add to the lead with three runs in the seventh innings in posting what would prove to be the final 7-0 score.

Manhattan was led on offense by sophomore Matt Forlow (Cold Spring, N.Y. / Haldane), who went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Adam Seibert (2-0) earned the win for the Pride, striking out six over 5.0 innings of two-hit ball. Foster went 3-for-4 with three runs while Witkowski was 3-for-4 with three RBI to pace a 14-hit Hofstra attack.

The Jaspers return to action at defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champion Siena on Saturday, April 18 with first pitch slated for 12 p.m.
