Bronx, NY - Fordham shot 56.4 percent from the floor en route to posting an 87-64 win over an undermanned Manhattan squad that suited up just seven players, including six scholarship, in the Battle of the Bronx at Rose Hill Gymnasium.

The Rams improve to 4-1 while the Jaspers fall to 1-3.

For the second-straight game, junior Rich Williams (Brooklyn, NY / Vermont Academy (VT)) hit for at least 20 points, finishing with 24 to go along with five rebounds over 40 minutes. Classmate Tyler Wilson (Bronx, NY / Cardinal Hayes) was impressive, finishing with 13 points and a career-high eight assists and three steals over 40 minutes.

Battle of the Bronx MVP Mandell Thomas paced five double-figure scorers for Fordham with 26 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals.

A back-and-forth first stanza saw the Rams take control with a half-ending 6-1 spurt in grabbing a 42-33 lead at intermission.

Manhattan would cut the deficit to seven with 16:36 to play on a Thomas Capuano (Fr., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY / Iona Prep) three pointer only to see Fordham answer just 18 seconds later with a three ball of its own while igniting a game-changing 9-0 run as the lead ballooned to 16.

The Jaspers would never get it within single digits the rest of the way.

Manhattan will open MAAC play at Siena on Friday, December 4 with opening tip slated for 7:00 pm.
