Riverdale, NY - Manhattan and defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion Rider played to a 0-0 draw on Senior Day at Gaelic Park.
With the tie, the Jaspers set a school-record with their 17th MAAC point and are now 9-3-2 and 5-0-2 in the league while the Broncs move to 8-5-1 and 5-2-1 in the circuit.
Senior Kristen Skonieczny (Lagrangeville, NY / Arlington) made two saves in recording her school-record matching 16th career shutout shutout while moving to 8-2-2 on the year. She has now recorded four-straight clean sheets and has yielded just one score through seven MAAC contests.
Manhattan was the aggressors for most of the afternoon, posting an 18-10 advantage on shots, including 7-2 on goal, but was unable to break through against a battle-tested Rider squad.
Prior to the match, Skonieczny and seniors Colleen Kavanagh (Rockville Centre, NY / Sacred Heart Academy), Tiffanie McIntosh (Groton, NY / Groton), Taylor Salkowsky (Massapequa Park, NY / St. Anthony's), Emily Ude (Babylon, NY / North Babylon) and Sam Washuk (Milford, CT / Joseph A. Foran) were honored for their four years with the program.
The Jaspers return to action on Wednesday, October 21 at Monmouth with first kick slated for 7:00 pm in a match that will be streamed through ESPN3.
