Box Score

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - After Binghamton scored just two minutes into the match, Manhattan College's Aislinn McIlvenny struck six minutes later and Sam Washuk scored the go-ahead goal in the second half to lift the Jaspers to a 2-1 win on Friday afternoon.

Stephanie Church put the Bearcats on top 1-0 at the 2:16 mark. After receiving a ball over the top of the defense from Katherine Corcoran, Church fired a hard, low shot into the back of the net.

Six minutes later, Manhattan seniors Kaelyn Angelo and Aislinn McIlvenny connected to tie the score. Angelo played a through ball down the right side to a streaking McIlvenny, who calmly collected the ball and found an angle past the keeper to make it 1-1.

The score remained 1-1 at halftime, but Washuk quickly gave the Jaspers the lead four minutes into the second half. Shannon Garrity placed a cross into the box and Washuk snuck it past the Binghamton keeper for her first collegiate goal and the ultimate game winner.

Kristen Skonieczny made six saves in goal for the Jaspers, including some critical stops in the second half to help seal the victory. Manhattan is now 2-1 on the season.

The Jaspers return to action on Sunday, August 31 when they will host Rhode Island at Gaelic Park at 10 a.m.
