BRONX, N.Y. - Aislinn McIlvenny converted a penalty kick midway through the second half but Fordham's Jessica Widmann scored with six minutes left to push the Rams over the Jaspers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Natalie Sims played a critical role in the match for Fordham, scoring on the Rams' first goal in the 39th minute and assisting on Widmann's goal in the 85th minute. 

Early in the second half, the Jaspers pressured Fordham, looking for the equalizer. Erica Modena fired a shot that struck the crossbar in the 53rd minute. 15 minutes later, Manhattan drew a penalty in the box and Aislinn McIlvenny converted a penalty kick to even the score at 1-1 in the 69th minute.

Manhattan had two corner opportunities after evening the score but could not convert. Fordham eventually went ahead 2-1 after a scrum in the middle. Sims crossed one to Widmann, who one-timed it into the back of the net for the game winner.

The Jaspers return to action on Friday, August 29 at Binghamton for a 5 p.m. match.
