RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Patrick Figueiredo scored all three Adelphi goals to lead the Panthers to a win over Manhattan (2-7) this evening at Gaelic Park. Figueiredo notched the game winning goal in the 11^th minute, which was assisted by junior teammate John Koutsounadis.

Adelphi (4-4) jumped out to an early lead courtesy of two first half goals by Figueiredo. The junior from Campinas, Brazil tallied his first goal with 10:39 on the clock when he placed a shot from inside the box past Manhattan's charging goalkeeper Randall Brobson. Figueiredo tallied the second score in the 37^th minute. He accepted a feed in the middle of the field from Val Charalambous during a fast break run, and finished on a 1-on-1 with Brobson.

The Panthers carried its two goal advantage into intermission.

In the 61^st minute, the Jaspers missed their best opportunity to score with the match still in limbo. James Gannon, a junior midfielder, tracked down a loose ball in the middle of the box, and used a bicycle kick to send a shot just high of the crossbar.

Five minutes later, Figueiredo put the game out of reach when he placed a shot into the right corner of the net. The score gave him a hat trick for the match and marked his sixth goal of the season.

Brobson patrolled the pipes for all 90 minutes, and registered four saves. Thorne Holder was credited with the shutout for Adelphi.

The Jaspers embark on a three game road series before returning to Gaelic Park. On Saturday, Manhattan is slated to take on St. Francis (NY) in Brooklyn. The Jaspers return home on October 17 for its league match with Iona.
