In game one,
The Golden Griffins responded with a run in both the bottom of the seventh and eighth to regain a two run advantage.
In the top of the ninth, the Jaspers tied the game at 8-8 thanks in part to two Canisius errors. Freshman Austin Sheffield drove in the first run on a RBI fielder's choice. Freshman outfielder Mike McCann crossed the plate soon after on a throwing error.
Canisius third baseman Kevin Mahoney relieved the Golden Griffins with a RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to secure the game one victory.
In game two, Canisius exploded for five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Golden Griffs' starter Shane Davis held the advantage, and eventually closed out the game allowing just eight hits and two runs over seven innings of work.
Sophomore left-hander Mike Gazzola was credited with the loss after allowing six runs in five innings. Gazzola struck out four over the contest.
