Box Score

Riverdale, N.Y. ? The Manhattan College men's lacrosse team fell to tri-state opponent Rutgers, 13-2, this evening in Piscataway, N.J.  Joseph Treman and Luke Dilillo found the net for the Jaspers two goals.

The Jaspers found themselves playing from behind early on as the Scarlet Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period.  At the start of the second quarter, Rutgers put up another goal increasing its advantage to 4-0 at the 14:48 mark.

Manhattan eventually got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Dilillo finished on a feed from Marc LaBelle cutting the deficit to 4-1.  However, the Scarlet Knights would put on two more goals before the half, as the Jaspers faced a five goal deficit by intermission.

The disadvantage proved to be too much, even with a late fourth quarter goal by Joseph Treman, Manhattan couldn't quite mount a comeback.

Treman and Dilillo both tallied one point on the day, each scoring a goal.  Brian Wynne notched his seventh point in two games as he dished out an assist, along with LaBelle.

The Jaspers will return to action on Saturday, April 5 as they will come home to Gaelic Park to take on Villanova University.  Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
