Staten Island, N.Y. (March 7, 2007)- For the second straight game, Manhattan rallied to pull within one goal, but could not score the equalizer, dropping a 10-9 decision to Wagner College this afternoon at Wagner College Stadium.
The Seahawks raced out to a 4-1 lead over the first 10 minutes, with the lone Lady Jaspers tally coming from senior Brenna Tinari.
After the Seahawks scored the first goal of the second 30 minutes to open up a 7-4 lead, the Lady Jaspers ran off four straight goals to take an 8-7 lead with 12:57 to play. Tinari got things started with a free position goal at the 26:41 mark. Senior Lauren Civardi had a hand in the next three tallies, scoring the first off a pass from Carman, recording the assist on Jillian McGowan's goal, then completing the flurry with an unassisted goal.
