Riverdale, N.Y. (September 6, 2005)--Manhattan Volleyball fell to rival St. John's, three games to none (30-11, 30-10, 30-22), in Jamaica, Queens Tuesday night.

The Lady Jaspers could not keep pace with the St. John's offense, as the Red Storm hit a staggering .473 for the match. Manhattan, on the other hand, struggled with its attack, hitting -.022.

Lady Jasper senior Maggie Pfeifer, who is the reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, posted a team-high seven kills. Junior Meghan Plunkett came off the bench and hit a team-best .222 with four kills.

Powered by sophomore LaToya Blunt, the Red Storm, (5-1, 0-0 Big East) jumped out to early leads in each of the three games. Blunt racked up 13 kills and hit .750 against the Lady Jasper defense.

Manhattan, (1-2, 0-0 MAAC), will return to action this weekend as they compete in the Toyota UConn Classic in Storrs, Conn. The Lady Jaspers will take on Seton Hall University on September 9 at 4:30 p.m., and then meet Brown University and host school University of Connecticut on September 10.
